OUR STORY
We are one of many school companies created for Young Enterprise.
Based in Sidcup, we come from Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School.
When thinking of what to create as our product, we deeply considered themes of sustainability and something inclusive and useful that would benefit everybody, and the world. Eventually, after lots of brainstorming sessions with the company, we landed on making pencils out of recycled newspaper. We started collecting the newspaper from train stations and bus shelters around our local area and began to make them!
Over time, we made plenty of innovations and changes in the process of pencil-making which helped us speed up our process and thus make more pencils, recycling more newspaper!
